So I really got the idea actually the day before Buddha Jayanti but it came out fully the day of or the day after, I cant remember which, but it was around then.

My lil sister had a birthday and also a couple of cousins around then and long ago my Dad and Mum had signed us on to Iskcon, the Krishna consciousness people who sing weirdo versions of Hindu bhajans everywhere to send us birthday greetings. So I saw the envelope of birthday good wishes which we appreciate and it contains some holiday dry fruit and nuts and sweet sugar crystals as a little present, we all get them and for good luck we open the package and scarf down our little goodies for good luck.

But ya see becoz of them being so American and all, I dont think of Krishna consciousness folks as Hindus, I think of them as a branch of Jews for Jesus, dont ask me why, maybe the kind of marriage of 2 cultures or their intensity and good faith or whatever.

So I was thinking of Jews for Jesus or Haysus as I sometimes call Himself and I thought why the Jews afraid of Jews for Jesus, instead they should embrace them and also expand the concept and double it in the opposite direction. Wassat ya say, well, I will tell ya.

I cannot emphasize enough that going for broke in any Afghan or local strategy only ensures that we will be broke and also beat. Alas thas wrong. We need strategy for going for long haul, this is a very long haul and we have to sustain.

It's also important to note that derivatives are not always called derivatives, they are often disguised as being called securities or bonds.

This gussies them up and bankers talk glibly using their tongue a lot like some folks I seen on tv calling them products and stuff like that and slipping in the words securities and bonds.

To my mind, they cunningly put that part only into an adobe flash graphic to folks who trouble to look at it. The main text does not specify that Depfa bank was not the problem, it was the injured party, the lousy bond from Canada bank and Cayman bank was the problem, thas how it looks to me.

Derivatives are not just bets placed on deals, they are also packages that pretend to be related to actual assets, even if the worth of the actual asset is what the banker says it is.

Many people know about the financial fiascos that were enacted by Bob Rubin, Larry Summers and Alan Greenspan, under cover of the impeachment time during Clinton administration and later under cover of the national uproar over Bush v Gore hanging chads.

I just wanna say I am shocked by both.

How Tiger Woods became a hero for fleeing a home w his Mom, Mom in law and wife and why I felt great relief

We got real used to cabs being called and I stayed overnight or a few nights at a chateau hotel we had used in the past. Thankfully a respite. I booked an apartment in the rental group that we had used when we moved to Shreveport from Midland Odessa Texas. I think the folks were somehow not surprised to see me back asking for another apartment. I had wanted to hold on to the previous one till the end of the lease, but hubby and nosy sis in law insisted we give it back and pay the penalty.

I ended up repaying the deposit and stuff, but it was just a relief I had an apartment. I asked my hubby or my friend to help me stock a few basics, canned fruit, cereal, apple sauce mini tubs, coffee, a couple of mugs, bowls and plates. Wise, very wise.

So on the critical mouthoff, I did have a place to go. My husband was imploring me to give the apartment back, but this time I just kept it going. Luckily though we had been fitfully working because of our move, I had enough locums and enough cash in the bank and plenty of give in my credit cards that I was empowered enough.

Driving was a different story however. I had driven extensively on busy thoroughfares, cross city, intercity in Bombay as it was then called, also somewhat in hubby town of Pune, under navigation by others of course.

Somehow when I moved to San Jose and then later, Boston and New York, although I did get driving lessons and obtained licenses after passing the written test on the first go, I found the highways and turn offs confusing.

So I ended up in public transportation from Queens to Mt Sinai for many years and then when we moved to be near New Rochelle or Montefiore in Bronx for a few years, I took Metro North and later the number 4 to Bloomies and Grand Central and Central park, so I felt empowered there.

Completely different story when we moved to Midland Odessa in Texas. I felt intimidated by traffic and the 3 parallel thoroughfares of the region. For a while I took cabs back and forth and rides from hubby to go to shopping and lunches on weekend. Black eyed peas was my fave, becoz of 6 veggie sides which you could have in lieu of main dish. BTW, do ya really trust Kate Beckinsale when she says Red Lobster is her favorite restaurant and that she orders some order where she has her own basket of biscuits. How many times has she been in the last year and how much of one half biscuit did she actually eat, I am just asking. Puhleeze.

So I am having trouble driving and not independent and spending a bunch of my paychecks on $25 cab rides back and forth. It is creeping me out plus hubby is becoming disdainful of me and only brings me to Walmart once a week to do the grocery shopping and hustles me out as soon as possible becoz he wants to be home and fuhgeddabout it if I wanna go to the Mall or Target in Midland, just fuhgeddaboutit, he is tired and wanna nap, so fuhgeddaboutit. Somehow again taking a cab to the Mall on the weekend looks kind of creepy.

So I am having troubles with the place and my boss who is not exactly conducive and was raised in Brownsville and thinks I am a hospital serf with no papers from across the border, no offense.

So I don't like it and by the time I find time to think about retaking driving lessons, JFK JR pops off in the plane and I says, is this how I wanna live my life, in the desert which I loathe, no trees, Clint Eastwood movie panoramas, no rain, 2 rain storms a year and a bunch of tiny dead birds when the high winds start up. Really, we lived on posh golf course and all, in rented digs, but really. The Indian docs and their wives were astonished at my ineptitude. Most of them came from small towns where there were like 3 cars in the town in the 60s and no foreign cars. Still they came here and made it big, lived in posh homes, sent their kids to Pepperdine, voted for George Bush and drove to Dallas to pick up groceries and Bollywood videos with 3 squalling kids in the back seat and astonished and how squeamish I am.

I did drive a few times back and forth but with no degree of confidence, so wait for why I feel so relieved.

So I was extremely trepidatious on the road and when we moved to Shreveport, I knew that I did have to drive myself. Plus mom in law had already moved into the posh house before me, while I was taking exams. Despite pouring out our remainder cash on furnishing up the home and stocking with new Corelle and silverware and washing all the dishes and all, all in between copiously prepping for oncology boards, sis in law glares at me and runs her finger over the window frame disapprovingly, like what a horrible person I am. Who even told them they had to by force come and move in before my exams were done. I had to even fly to Dallas for the test, but did they hold off a few days in the New Jersey home, oh no. Somehow they felt that it was absolutely definitely totally imperative, that they had to show up the week before my exams, absolutely will not take no for an answer.

Divali was that week and we had planned a token New Year in the new home, but Mom and sis in law said they would move in and that's that and hubby could move in to help them. I could stay in the rented apartment and do my lousy measly test if I insisted since I was a backward duffer and almost whore.

So in this background, I prepares the home. At that point, my long work and credit history is what helps us get the mortgage and somehow we make it through move in and I barely make it to the test, which BTW, was not a stellar performance.

Then when we return and I am dealing with the first part of the horrid Bush presidency** and trying to find a job in a blue town but a mostly red high command of medical people, in comes mouthy and nosy and disruptive. (**actually, thinking back it was while the Bush vs Gore was going on and maybe the Scotus had just handed down its horrid decision, lemme tell ya, being a Midland Odessa resident, working in Temple Tehas and then in Shreveport in those critical days, I really felt my status as a blue person in a mostly red region, really. I might as well as have been from some spittle planet on the dark side of the galaxy, while they was the bright shining normals from Jaysus, really, so no day at the beach outside or at home).

Well after a few days of exits, and trying to take long calming walks, and asking for Chinese food, which hubby suddenly refuses to bring, I am taking driving lessons and getting better and better running my sage Toyota Camry around Ellerbee road, Line Avenue, Youree Drive and Champion Lake. I am still not good at a lot of other parts of the town, but I can get to Walmart and that's what matters, Walmart on Bert Kouns.

So on the mouthoff nite, I finally had enough and mom in law still calling me by the suicided daughter's name. I have on a fairly used tee shirt and pair of knit shorts. It is kind of cold in early December and dark despite being 7 ish or 8 ish. My hubby and I were trying to watch tv and mom in law again came to mouth off and make me get up off the sofa and go and be a serf in the kitchen. There is no reason for me to leave the sofa and be a serf in the kitchen, there is already plenty of food in the fridge and besides we are not even about to eat.

To my great joy, I find my keys, put my brown faux fur knee length coat over my shorts and go to the 3 car garage and get into my sage green Toyota Camry. Hubby looks over at me and maybe follers me there. Mom in law follers me and looks in astonishment that her suicided daughter knows how to drive. Yes, I can drive I says, although she has waved me goodbye on multiple days when my driving instructor came to get me. To my great joy, I was able to smartly get the auto garage door open, and drive back out through the driveway and onto Longlake drive. Then out the gated security entrance and I think the Overton Brooks turn off onto the north part of Ellerbee Road. I think I kept going north past the Baptist church and past some isolated horse ranches. It was really dark on that part of the road. Then the turn off near the rail crossing and onto Youree drive going South. That was a tricky one and slowly I found my way to Bert Kouns and then onto the Clyde Fant Parkway to get to my rental apartment group.

My great joy is not just I made it spectacularly well for such a part time driver, but I also made it up the stairs and thankfully settled on the comforters and turned on my clock radio and made me a little meal with the stored goodies. I don't think I left the apartment for the next couple of days, but what a huge relief.

Thas why I feel so endeared to The Great Tiger Woods who let us know ya didnt have to look like Greg Norman to play golf that he too fleeing a mom in law and mom. And poor man drove into hydrant despite spectacular motor skills. So endearing.

Like Greg Norman and Chris Evert breaking up, them too, oh joy. Even Greats have prollems, we two medical proffesionals who got caught up with Mouthy mom and conniving sis in law and stuff like that can't really complain too much. Even though Chris Evert and Martina still look the same as they did 10 years ago, whereas I now look like their mom or aged aunt. And Kate Hudson left her hairy guy and Jennifer Anniston can't find a boyfriend to get married to.

So Mo Dowd is wrong about these folks not being role models. Of course they are, they smarter and more skilled and make more money and are prettier than all of us and still they have problems, really how sweet they are. Such a huge relief and if for a brief moment my driving skills held up better than Tiger's my goodness, such a huge brimming relief. You go, Tiger, you a big hero to us all.

So the most hilarious thing about Tiger Wood memorable escapade is that not just his wife may have been chasing him w a golf iron or driver, but what he was fleeing from was a posh home that incidentally apparently housed not just his Mom but also his Mom in Law and how it looked to me is that he was fleeing the mouthing women folk.

I can't tell ya how grateful and abject I am at this point that The Great Tiger, hope of the world, had to flee a posh home from mouthing Mommies and drove funny and crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree.

Not that I am feeling schadenfoodi about the crash, not a bit. Oh no. I just wanna let ya know that in this small thing, I too have driven off from a Southern posh home from a mouthing mom in law and although I am nothing like Tiger and wasn't even then, this chubby middling age medical professional drove through an unfamiliar route, across a train line and made it home to an apartment that was specifically rented exactly for such a timely escape.

For years I have felt great twinges of regret that somehow as a medical professional with great bedside manner and hookey like that I could not handle a mouthy mom who suicided herself and a mouthy mom in law who had just shown up after her daughter suicided herself. To make matters worse, the mom in law kept calling me by the name of the suicided girl. She also tried to deputize me into domestic serf that her prolly slightly backward, never worked outside the home poor sweet daughter had been.

Not just mouthing off constantly, but entering my bedroom which we thought was such a brilliant master suite with a posh marble bath suite, jacuzzi, his and hers sinks, separate potty room, plants etc and did I mention, its own porch that opened on to the roomy back garden, take that, Tiger.

So, oodles of privacy but no privacy. Constant mouthing off. Showing up when I am at the computer and throwing my papers around disdainfully. Starting 2 3 or more ruckuses a day. Demanding that I somehow show up in the kitchen and slave at the stove from early AM, preferably with her at my side supervising and wisely counselling.

Never mind that we had a long fixed routine of when hubby would wake and go to the kitchen to have his large mug of half and half and tea. Never mind that I usually stumbled in later and slugged down cold black coffee from a coffee press. Never mind that I made sure the kitchen and pantry was stocked with plenty of rice, indian chicken stew, vegetable medlies, plus an assortment of soups, yoghurt and desserts. It was all bad for her becoz I was treating the kitchen in an executive fashion, whereas she and her daughter then residing w new born daughter and horrible husband was in New Jersey or Connecticut and bawling at her long distance on how to bring me to heel.

She had lov*ed restaurant food for years and always enjoyed making her son go for take outs in Pune, their home. Suddenly in Shreveport she decided she would vomit from take out. Also vomit from chicken soup in the premium chunky soup, pop up open cans. Also vomit from boxed desserts or get a sore throat and enlarged glands, which were all my horrible fault.

Hubby and I watched some shows together on couches placed at right angles, making the occasional remark. That all was gone, she would come in and demand that we give her a translation in Hindi, like of Star Trek and stuff like that. Forget PBS Newshour and all, why are we watching that, can't we watch an old tearjerker Hindi movie instead. Now I am going to vomit.

So I admit that Turkey the country was the last thing on my mind even though a bunch, meaning maybe 5 or 6 of my local newspaper travel writers have been going there and waxing lyrical about the same bunch of things, the balloon rides, the caves, the food, the women, elderly young or kids, yadda yadda.

And it was still the last thing on my mind whether or not it helped or didnt help in Iraq and I get that it was really important that it did help. In fact, I remember the weekend of the Turkish vote so well, the news media reported that it was a yes vote and I was sure it wasn't. Not becoz I am telepathic or anything but it was a squish weekend, a weekend when the moon squishes into amasvya. In fact I even think it was some significant weekend. And I didn't think mad George Bush would get a win on a squish weekend. So I was sceptical and sure nuff, next thing we heard was that the vote was really no because of some majority thang and the news media counted it wrong and didnt get the majority thang right whatever it was.

And though there is all that thang about the writers and their oppression it was still the last thing on my mind. Oppressed writers, please, who don't have oppressed writers, take a number, right.

Kind of weird, but also pretty OK, like Japan, I am happy the regime changed there after many years and it changed to the left.

I am also happy with the new first lady of Japan, Miyuki Hatoyama, who looks savvy and a TV personality and Gawker managed to find her photo with blue jeans. I googled and found that few places had the whole of the blue jeans or any substantial part, many places like timesonline had just the white top and some places had a little smidgen of blue.

NJ National Guard 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team returns home from Iraq

TRENTON, N.J.

Little Jewel Moore thought her daddy lived inside the computer. That's because since she was 3 months old, he did. And Moore, one of the 2,900 New Jersey National Guard soldiers back from Iraq .

This was the largest deployment of New Jersey National Guard troops to a combat zone since World War II.

Soldiers were greeted with cheers Friday as they marched through the streets of the state capital in a welcome home parade. A 19-gun salute signaled the start of a parade through downtown Trenton.

In front of the newly finished World War II memorial outside the Statehouse, soldiers were greeted by Gov. Jon S. Corzine and Maj. Gen. Glenn Rieth, who told them the state would never forget their service or needs going forward.

"We'll make sure your transition back is as successful as your service to us has been," Corzine said.

The parade ended at Sovereign Bank Arena where guardsmen were treated to a USO show that included performances by comedian Joe Piscopo of "Saturday Night Live" fame and other local entertainers.

Also welcoming ithem home, were cheerleaders from three of the areas professional football and basketball teams.

Volunteers from many groups including the USO, The Salvation Army, The Red Cross, and The American Recreational Military Services served free food and beverages during the day long celebration.

"You are the blessing in 'God Bless America,'" Newark Mayor Cory Booker told the troops at the arena. "We welcome you home and tell you that you are not home alone."

Inside the Sovereign Bank Arena since 9:30 a.m., approximately 5,000 parents, girlfriends and children of soldiers gathered and watched the parade on the screens of the sports arena.

And then, finally, the soldiers filed in, vigorously waving the flags of their companies. Booming music, like the theme to the movie Star Wars, blasted over the stadium speakers.

Loved ones in the stands screamed as they recognized husbands, fathers, wives, sons and daughters in the sea of light-brown uniforms. Soldiers waved back. Some in the stands had tears in their eyes as cameras flashed.

Now that chick has riled me no end on several occasions and will prolly set my hackles rising again soon, but yesterday I was rollicking and rolling in the aisles, joyous at her shenanigans.

Like a berserkathon Olson twin on too many capucchinos, she raced from her parliamentary or state rep seat and rolled on over to the Speaker's desk. Dressed in some kind of salwar outfit, with her customary hilarious headscarf, this time in some weirdo black and white flower motif, Mehbooba argued with him and then started pulling wires on his desk and found his mike and threw it on the side.

Meanwhile, 2 pretty little associates or fellow reps also in headscarfs, giving giggly smirks, rolled up behind and next to Mehbooba and grinning took her off, while the Speaker bawled like mayhem for the marshalls.

Such a joyous event that of course the fuddies (including the 20 something fuddies, there is no fuddy like a 20 something fuddy) on Indian TV gasped and groaned over the event. A fellow Muslim rep all in his sheepskin weirdo hat started bawling later in the evening that it was abominable and she should apologize and she was grinning and defiant, in a different headscarf.

While this was going on in the morning, I was bawling the song, Mehbooba oh Mehbooba, the word of course meaning lover or sweetheart, it was a big hit when I was young, and I know if this was an American event, at least somebody, Brit Hume, or Colbert or Jon Stewart would have put the song and video together and it would play over and over.

It is also appalling that a previous Bush administration and the Reagan administration before it did not see fit to inform Congress or the American people or the allies on the subcontinent, the nature and extent of their training to jihadists well before the devastating outcomes in Afghanistan and Pakistan and outbreaks of terrorist attacks in India, the US and other parts of the world.

It is critical to note that at no point either in Bush v Clinton or in Bush v Gore did Afghanistan feature as any significant occurrence or the role of the CIA and training to jihadists become apparent. We were also not informed that erosion of women rights had become a parcel of this so called encouragement of jihadists.

Even today, we are having major problems identifying the exact goal of American intervention in Afghanistan and Pakistan and the actual outcomes of both are critically important to both India and the USA.

It is thrilling that you have had the courage to stand up to the naysayers who would deny you and the American people a full disclosure and the right to be fully informed on CIA activities.

Secrecy is only an operational issue, but it cannot apply in broad fashion to entire projects, processes and goals.

In fact, not knowing the goals is practically an invitation to massive errors and miscarriages of intent and purpose, as well as violations of law.

Please continue to insist on full disclosure.

A new openness must become the hallmark of CIA operations from this time forward. It is protective of people in America as well as closest allies, India and others and also protective of the very agents whose well being and lives are daily at risk from their tasks and mandates. It will also enable their tasks and mandates to become more and not less successful and will protect their lives and reputations as well as American lives, and the lives of allies.

We all knows the CIA lies like a rug, in fact the way Tenet lay like a rug and slept through Colin Powell patently absurd presentation for the Iraq War to the UN, in retroscpect if we have a medal of gross chaddiness they should both get it.

Of course, try not to write such nonsense to Nancy Pelosi especially on the official site. Try to be polite and circumspect, ya can say we know the CIA takes drugs and confabulates. When ya says confabulates people think ya very smart and well read and they dont think ya a country bumpkin who farts.

Or ya can say, Dear Nancy, thanks for looking out for our buttinskis. We all knows the CIA tells confabulations and mendacities all the time, especially since Poppy Bush became a spook and led us into Afghanistan without telling the American people and without preparing us for the horrors to follow. We further have no idea what secret projects they may have already cooked or are still cooking and we have no trouble believing they ran circles around you when ya was in the minority in congress. People at the agencies usually laugh hilariously at the minority unless they have a specific axe to grind, then they smile lovingly and endearingly at the minority member. Besides, we are not ninnies to tell the CIA to do stuff in our name and pretend we dont know because heck, we should know and we will step up to the plate. We know the kind of nuts they often deal with and we are ready to do battle with both lefties and righties if need be. And we think we should know as much as possible for our own safety, not from some mistaken notion of do goodness. We want to know if any of their little plans are gonna blow up on us, for instance and other interesting stuff like that and also if they planning to blow our reputation and break the law all over the planet, both those kinds of stuff.

Also if they are doing stuff that they find scary, but is really quite understandable then they too might feel better if they let us know just like people tell Oprah and Kelly ripa and Joy Behar things like that, it makes them too feel better and why shouldnt they feel better, after all they too have been through so much.
